| This spying thing 23:34 - May 8 with 1764 views | saint22 | If everything being reported is true and the fact we have been charged suggests it may well be it is a total embarrassment and makes us look pretty fkn stupid indeed How could we be so idiotic? Tonda must have known as well which taints him massively We will be very lucky to get promoted now no matter the results | | | | |
| This spying thing on 23:54 - May 8 with 1704 views | Bridders2 | If the club are absolutely caught with their pants down I would expect a hefty fine maybe £1 -2m. But how can they give a points deduction after the season has finished? Sure if we are still in the Championship next season they could dock some points, but we may be in the Prem. | |

And NEVER with Tondas knowledge. Why would we have to do that?????? Correct. Of course we didn't do such a STUPID thing.

I very much doubt we would have been charged so quickly without damning evidence

It’s possible that we’ve been charged to elicit a response to the allegations from us. I may be wrong, but I don’t think the Club has so far made any comment, and I would guess that Boro would be pressing the EFL to act. Best case: it’s all bollox and we are not dignifying it with a response - concentrating on the game etc. Worst case: we’ve tried to cheat which is extremely embarrassing, especially as Tonda had developed as a tactical genius. Hope the Club has good PR people, with experience in crisis management.

Following the investigation where they find that it’s all fabricated by Middlesbrough to upset Saints preparations, what fine should the FA impose on borough?

| This spying thing on 10:02 - May 9 with 1201 views | Ifonly | The only open question seems to be whether it can be proved that he was acting under the club's orders or if he was acting alone. My view is that the man was supposed to be at work and he's in the bushes with high tech spying gear so it seems most likely that he was acting under instructions from the club. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| This spying thing on 11:03 - May 9 with 1133 views | ShirtNumbers | Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is the alleged spy was recording on his phone but also had equipment able to record Kim Hellberg's voice. I mean long range recording equipment - isn't that stuff usually, well, quite big. You know, sort of so big that you can't be very subtle with it. Plus I'm not even sure if you could sync up such a recording device if true. I'm struggling to get my head round this and figure out the logistics which could result in it being true. | |

And another thing, in response to something mentioned on here or another thread about this. Apparently whistleblowers have said we've done this before. In the Ipswich home game, in the build up to their second goal, they ensured the ball went out for a corner. This is a clear sign a team has a corner routine, Arsenal do this all the time. We didn't stop Ipswich getting this corner. If we are spying, we really aren't very good at it. Or, of course, it's not as serious as its been built up to be

I think you may be grasping at straws there. If we could have prevented conceding a corner then I'm sure we would have done it, whether we were spying or not. But if it was true that we chose to concede a corner then, if anything, that suggests we knew what they would try to do with it. How did we know that? The reality is that, in the modern game: - set pieces are vital - teams focus on set pieces in their last training sessions before the game - any info on what the opposition plan to do at set pieces is gold dust There's no doubt the info we're alleged to have been spying for is well worth having.
