What a game. 22:56 - May 12 with 1912 viewsA1079

Keep on crying and whining you smoggies into the Tees, because the Saints are going to Wembley.

Hellberg can go to Hell and Gibson can do one as well, you were second for weeks and you blew the chance to go up yourselves.

Putting aside all the toxicity it was an enthralling 2 games.

I guess we wait now for the fallout.

The amount of effort that both teams put into it for 126 minutes was incredible. Many were cramped up or limping at the end. It was a real battle. Great atmosphere too although we've come to expect that from Saints fans nowadays.

It was the footballing equivalent of a great boxing match. where both fighters have given their all.

MOTM? The whole team.

Brilliant match. I’m a proper gimp and just watched it again after getting home, my MOM James Bree, he’s the Don.

Went with my nippers, we had to get the 11pm last train and left 30 seconds before the winner🥹ffs

On holiday at the moment, and had to wake up at 02:00 to watch this on a stream.

Probably woke most of the hotel up when we went 2-1 up !

Looked and sounded like a great atmosphere. Sadly, I will not be using my "Wembley 'frequent visitor card'" for final, but to all those that make it, enjoy and lets get back to where we belong !

I had to get the 11pm train too.

I saw the winner but had to leave before the final whistle and run most of the way to the station.

You cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into.

I knew it was going to happen, because I was with my kids I couldn’t miss the train, we got there with 5 minutes to spare so could have seen the goal. Ah well we’ll be at Wembley to see us win

Our support was superb. Nick's match report is utterly ridiculous, and unfortunately it gets read by football fans all over the country. Boro and Pompey fans will lap it up:

"At 6pm the fans swarmed in their thousands to the front of the Itchen stand to welcome the Southampton team coach, two years ago it was a glorious spectacle, but those who attended coming back into the fanzones, spoke of how it lacked a little something from the 2024 version.

That seemed to transport itself into the stadium at 8pm, the Saints fans seemed content to sit back and watch their team over run Middlesbrough, however it did not work out quite like that and as much as the team struggled to get going, so did the fans.

Whilst certain areas such as the Northam & the group in the Itchen next to the away fans made some noise, around me in the Kingsland and other areas, many sat firmly in their seats saying nothing."

I think he must have a hearing problem.

The support last night was brilliant and I doubt fans anywhere else in the country could have been any better.
