I sense a change of stance in the fanbase 21:48 - May 24 with 15634 viewsPatfromPoole

Now that the dust has begun to settle, I am sensing that the pendulum is swinging from “Tonda out” to “Tonda in”.

Or is it just me?

Poll: If we were today re-instated to the play-off final, would you go on Saturday?

Think it's out of our hands and the FA will ban him

If they don't, then I'd be happy for him to continue in the post, partly because the performances I saw under him were excellent and I'd be wary who we'd appoint to replace him

Also if he isn't banned then a lot will depend on whether the players are prepared to work with him in future

Don't care what the media or other fans think of us, f**k em

Fail we may, sail we must

Given he admitted cheating and looks like he harassed junior staff I really don’t see how he can stay

Hmm, morally you're right. But if we had the choice:

1) An "immoral" manager who is a winner and gets Saints promoted with aggressive, full throttle performances. Just a bit of the dark arts thrown in.

Or

2).A pleasant moral, decent guy that doesn't get promotion and we get bullied on the pitch? I.e Will Still

Some may say what about the moral manager that gets us promotion but -
Alex Ferguson was called a bully by some, so was Clough, so was Jose Mourinho amd they carried out the dark arts too. Great winners do whatever it takes to win and their fans loved winning titles. I loved watching Saints win games, loved watching Downes rough up the.opposition, and.loved watching THB cause chaos. Tonda would get success and I want success, but he's does some.spying 🤷.

The fan base is therefore the most forgiving in history. He got us chucked out of a play off final we would have won. All our anger at the media, Mboro and the EFL, however justified, does not change the fact that Tonda chose to cheat with catastrophic consequences. He may be able to rebuild his career after he's served his ban but any future achievements here would be forever tainted. And surely we're not that forgiving? I know I'm not and I would think that the majority of supporters would agree with me in that. It's a great shame but Tonda brought this on himself and us.

Im firmly in wanting him to continue .. apologize ..say things that everyone wants to hear... Then put it to bed ..

Ask yourself this , if we weren't chucked out and it was a fine and points we would all want him to stay and fight for the club .

Hes a young man , made mistakes we all do .

Ive been through the Angry , and almost 'grief' bit about all this ..now thanks to Hull yesterday lifting my shít fúcking mood ..i cant wait for next season ..

Fúck the other teams and there fans , fúck sky and fúck the media all of them .

I agree with everything you have put here. I would like Tonda to stay. BUT, he will.probabaly get banned won't he? Then we would be forced to get in another manager. Plus, I would like to know what the players feelings are.

I would agree in the main but not sure Fergie or Miurinho admitted actual cheating which is the big difference here

I confess I was in the “over my dead body brigade”.
But now that I have calmed down quite a bit, I am not quite so anti. Not because I am any less pissed off about what he did - especially the bullying - but because he seemed to be able to get something out of the players which at best will take quite a time to be replicated by a new man.
Of course he may get a ban so it will be out of our hands.
But if he is allowed to continue, he will need to show he has one helluva strong character to take all the away abuse which is a cert to come his way, plus inevitably he will need to prove that he really does have the magic touch without cheating, something which everyone has assumed he has but does anybody really know?

My stance has never changed. I would like Saints to retain his services but as others have said, there are serious doubts that his position is tenable, unfortunately.

I sense a change of stance in the fanbase on 10:06 - May 25 with 9151 viewsdirk_doone

According to the big poll on Saintsweb, the majority of Saints fans don't want him sacked.

Why should they? It would be stupid. Even if you don't like him, it makes more sense to wait for the FA decision. But, most Saints fans hope we can keep the best manager we've had for years.

Even if the FA suspend him, I'd happily take someone like Roy Hodgson as an interim manager so that we can get him back, because Tonda's going to win trophies for some club and I would rather it was Saints.

Don't sack him - 149 (51.2%)

That will be something to look forward to then

Those who wanted him to remain moaning at the first sign of a poor run of form

Those who wanted him to leave saying its going to take time after the last few months of European rule

Do you seriously think that this bloke can get you promoted if he isn’t cheating?

The only reason he has great stats is because he was cheating. The only reason he got all the players onside and gave them confidence is because he was cheating.

He won’t have all the players onside this time, he won’t have anywhere the same stats, and enough fans will turn on him when and if the results drop down too significantly. .

Then you have the players who will be getting out of the club. Will your club be able to get enough quality players coming in due to the cloud sitting over your club?

I would also imagine that enough coaches will be cheesed off about this and will share ideas about how to stop your team.
