The Club have obviously opted to hide behind this review.
Which would sort of work as a tactic if the FA make a swift decision.
However if it isn't a quick decision, and they decide to ban Eckert, we may miss the boat on a preferred new manager and almost be forced to make Garner caretaker manager.
Though I wonder if this may perhaps be the Club's plan either way.

I do not think we can sue the EFL as their ruling I believe is Final.
Having a review is a bit of a bugger I am not sure we can do much until they come up with a punishment for the club and Echart.

We could launch a High Court challenge to prove wrongdoing and that the EFL acted unlawfully, improperly, or ultra vires in expelling Saints.

My fear is that the FA are not going to rush this. They have no need to and will not care one iota what impacts it will have on SFC, indeed they may see the dragging of it out and making us sweat to their advantage, in that, cynically, I don't believe those in charge really care what happens to us as a club (unlike say some of the more pronounced and bigger teams). They may delay anything until post world cup, though there is no logical reason for doing so. Indeed there is no logical reason for them not coming up with an outcome now.
But, if it drags on and the decision is to ban Eckert etc for some length of time, and opportunities to replace with a "decent manager" and purchase players could be missed and could have a greater impact on the next season that the current 4 point deduction. The FA may also be concerned that SFC are not taking the lead on Eckert and see it as a sign of lack of contrition. I am not saying that is the case but I am second guessing like everyone.
SFC I hope, are onto FA for an outcome. I have to assume though that SFC to all intents and purposes are wanting to retain Eckert because if they really believed he has done wrong to the team and club and they saw his position as untenable surely they would have dispensed with his services by now.
SFC have been extremely quiet since their short apology and we need to build trust message. Unless I have missed it, nothing since. That may be a deliberate ploy or to help ensure they do not rattle the cage too much or it may be they have gone on holiday. Who knows, but my over-riding feeling that this is another summer of uncertainty which will impact our season or certainly the first quarter of it.
Though the noise about spygate has gone diminished for the time being, the ramifications of it to us as a club remain messy and disruptive. |  | | |

The KC's opinion was that, just like in the Pinochet case and Lord Hoffman, a failure to declare an interest can make a judgement void. And it that case it was a Supreme Court decision that was set aside.
He thought that having am undeclared Boro player on the panel was grounds to have the decision set aside, but let's face it, Saints aren't going to do that because it would simply lead to another tribunal hearing the case, with the possibility of the same decision again and with us, Hull and everyone else in limbo again.
No, I think the decision is final, but the think about it is that David Winnie being on the board means that we can always say that the decision is dodgy and that th punihment was just too harsh. And being able to do that is I think going to be important in PR terms going forward.
Anyone, mentions the case to me, the first thing I say is did you know that they had a Boro player on the tribunal? and the tone of the conversation shifts quite markedly. | |

Yes.
The FA would obviously have been hoping we would sack Eckert, and we have presented them with a problem.
This could really screw up our preparations for the new season if not resolved quickly.
Our whole strategy regarding players in and out is going to be dependent on the outcome of this. | |

I don't think we can take any action against the EFL, as we have not committed any crime or committed any civil offence. So the EFL can do whatever they like and don't even have to justify their actions or reasons | | | |

Having a (former) player on the tribunal is one thing, but what about the fact that Neil Bausor, the Boro CEO no less is on the EFL board (along with 9 other EFL club directors).
I know apparently the final decision was "nothing to do with the final decision", but surely there must be some scope in there? | |
