Leading national press all want a ban for Eckert 09:31 - Jun 3 with 3099 viewsPatfromPoole

Scum of the highest order.

I fear we are in trouble, as all the leading hacks in the press want Eckert banned, and the FA will just cave in for an easy life.

Leading protagonists are as follows.

Henry Winter – praised Bielsa at the time of his misdemeanours, but leading the calls for Eckert to get a lengthy ban. Hypocritical coont who is now saying on Twitter who will be in the England team at the World Cup (particularly John Stones).

Ian Herbert – awful Daily Mail “journalist”. Wrexham fan with an agenda as he feels his Hollywood club should have been in the play-offs.

Despicable spineless human beings, getting a thoroughly merited kicking from Saints fans on Twitter at the moment.

I agree with you Pat, the FA will cave into the media and push for a one year ban, I say let the feckers and just employ Tonda behind the scenes as an ‘analyst’ supporting whoever is the de facto boss.

Unfortunately I fear that they will win, the whole episode has been trial by media. From the very start it has been impossible for the club to get a fair trial. Everything has been played out with every expert in the land tell the EFL & FA what to do, that must have some effect on them.

What i want to know is just what the fluck are our legal team playing at? It seems like they rolled over and died initially and we are now laying prostrate waiting to be ravaged. Christ, if anything like this ever happened to my business i'd go in all guns blazing. The initial punishment and subsequent appeal were bent and frought with conflicts of interest. If we aren't beavering away in the background ready to kick back then we deserve everything we get. Its time we came out fighting and stood up for ourselves.

There was bound to be a reaction to the Club getting on the front foot yesterday.

They all got space to fill, and a 'hang em' story is always going to get more traction that 'let's all calm down a bit'.

The Club needs to keep up the PR campaign now. The journalists will tire first.

The timing admittedly isn’t great.

It’s a very quiet week in the build-up to the World Cup, and this is a gift from heaven for the journalist scum to fill their pages.

We lost the PR battle weeks ago. This is now about coming out of it with the least damage to the club as possible.

Screw the scummy press and what they think. The only thing that matters now is that the FA don't issue more sanctions. Hopefully just a fine for Tonda and maybe a "Dignity at Work" course.

There are no sacrificial lambs required. The club need to pull together as one.

COYS - Keep Marching in.

Hypocrite, Henry Winter, wants a ban for Eckert on 12:22 - Jun 3 with 2680 viewsdirk_doone

I don't think you should use the word "all" as there is no evidence that they all do. It would be better to use the names of the offending journalists.

I traced the lies claiming that Saints players were going to sue the club, back to one young sports writer, who'd clearly just made it up without any source. It then got repeated by others, who could then say, "It's been reported that...." A lot of lies have been told by online media throughout all of this, especially those sites whose names begin with "Football League", usually run by supporters of rival clubs. Journalists in the mainstream media pick up their stories from them, without bothering to verify them.

Liverpool fans pursued a successful campaign against journalists who lied about Hillsborough. If they hadn't, who knows what might have happened?

It would also be useful to find which journalists reported leaks during the disciplinary process. They would have needed an internal 'spy' to obtain them. Who was he?

Something along these lines would be more effective as a headline:
"Henry Winter – praised Bielsa at the time of his misdemeanours, but leading the calls for Eckert to get a lengthy ban. Hypocritical....."

I would expect a touchline ban of six games as oppose to a total ban.

If the FA have any sense they should not get involved, but when/if they do then common sense would be a suspended ban at most.

Saints fans will remember who said this and who said that during this.
I will never forgive those who sought to damage this club more than we deserve.
Tonda has apologised as has the club,we suffered a chance to get back to the Premiership being denied and a 4 point penalty next season, thats enough.

Leading the way has been the BBC. Another have your say allowing comments on this. I used to like the BBC and had no problem paying my TV licence. Not anymore.

Common sense and FA used in the same sentence?
I think they will continue to crucify us and the club will just sit back and take it

And as for Ian Herbert. I'd forgotten he was a Wrexham fan. I actually read his article and he should be done for libel for the things he said, An absolute Ar5hole!!

I see Pompey fans are all getting as desperate as 73. They're posting email links to the FA and asking fans to bombard them with demands for Tonda to be banned.
