Counting Crows At The Guildhall 10:15 - Jul 2 with 782 viewsSaintNick

Counting Crows were one of my favourite bands of the 1990's/00's, their first album August & Everything After was the soundtrack for a road trip in California in 1994.

Went to see them last night at the Guildhall for the first time in about a dozen years and was pleasantly surprised at how good they still were.

They played about 20 songs in a set that lasted just over 1hr 45 mins.

The sound was also surprisingly ok, the Guildhall sound is notoriously bad, but it was ok last night.

It was also easy to get a drink, plenty of different beer on tap and loads of bar staff, even a discount if you bought it in a 2 pint cup

They must have sacked the bar staff from last Saturday from the Lightening Seeds/Deacon Blue summer sessions. They were hopeless.

I went to the summer sessions to see the Stranglers last year and then OMD & Peter Hook & The Light this year, both time I found the bar well organised, a big long bar the width of the Guildhall itself with plenty of staff as well as the two usual bars

I never had to wait more than a minute to get served
