I would absolutely love it if we copied a beer can instead of a deck chair for our kit every season. White with a red stripe, seems perfect and gives us a unique identity as opposed to looking like Sheff Utd, Brentford, Sunderland and the rest.
You always say Southampton has to have traditional stripes but if you started supporting the club in the mid 70s, as I did, it would be the 89/90 season before the team played in a kit you would be happy with. You can't go that long without stripes and think stripes are part of our DNA.
It's funny you always used to trot out the 'Newcastle would never move from traditional stripes' argument but even they have got bored with them now judging by their new kit.
