| England V Argentina Matchday Thread on 12:30 - Jul 15 with 3975 views | SaintPaulVW | I think we have a good chance. This isn't the Argentina of old. We dealt with Haaland well at the weekend. We should be able to handle Messi. Tuchel is a big game coach, so I'm quietly confident. COY3L | | | |

Our strength is going forward. Messi was the key for Argentina, without him Argentina are nothing special, I can see Spain beating them. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yep, Tuchel put all his eggs in one basket to defend that 1-0. Dreadful decision.
| England V Argentina Matchday Thread on 22:30 - Jul 15 with 3517 views | grumpy | When Bellingham and Kane aren’t seeing more of the ball there is only going to be one outcome eventually. I hate the way Argentina play the game, all that shirt pulling, complaining etc etc Not interested in 3rd place playoff. In fact I’m glad it’s all over for us. | | | |

When you’re camped in your half,to bring on more defenders is just inviting more pressure. Argentina could have been caught out if we had kept Gordon on and brought Saka on.

The better team won helped by some ridiculous substitutions from Tuchel so no real surprise or complaints to be honest. It must surely be the end for Kane now although who will replace him ?

Because he is thirty two and the next World Cup won’t happen for another four years. Add in the fact that for most of the second half he gave the impression of being a passenger. He scores goals against weak opposition but has never ever come good in the big games.

1. 32 is not the end for a forward,Messi is 39. 2. If he looked like a passenger it was because he is a forward not a defender. 3.Kane has scored 85 goals in 121 games for England are you really saying he hasn't ever scored in big games?

Those tactics were madness. Argentina are no great shakes, going one nil up bringing loads of defenders on and sitting back with no one holding the ball up was suicidal tactics. England did the same against Croatia in 2018 and Italy in 2021. The best form of defence should have been attack. Bring on fresh players like Saka or Eze who have pace, can keep hold of the ball and could stretch them not Dan Burn FFS.

We all know this so why has a coach who is so highly rated done it? My 13 year old son was going mental at the subs, he got it. It’s baffling.

| England V Argentina Matchday Thread on 07:30 - Jul 16 with 3053 views | Heisenberg | Everyone makes mistakes but that was horrendous. Tuchel completely bottled it. Cape Verde gave it a go more than England did. It was obvious to everyone watching the game apart from Tuchel that England needed an out to get us up the pitch. We had players sitting on the bench that could do it but he puts on defenders with over 30 minutes to go. Kane should have been taken off but he bottled that as well. Tuchel is not a great manager and shouldn’t be near the England job for that. As for the final I really hope Spain win. What an horrible team Argentina are. | |

Kane isn’t fit to lace Messis boots. He is not an elite player as some people claim. If a 36 year old Kane at the next World Cup in an England team led by Tuchel is our only hope we may as well give up.

Messi is in a class of his own. Kane has been a great player for England and I hope he has a few more years in him yet.

I was screaming at the tv “bring on Saka or Rashford !” We should have gone for the 2 nd not try and desperately cling on to a one goal lead. FFS I honestly thought Tuchel was better than that but it’s just the same old story. So disappointing.
