Two years ago the crowd for this fixture played on 28th October was 28,924 and a capacity crowd these days seems to be just touching 31,000, we seem to be likely to get just above that attendance this season, assuming that Birmingham have sold out their 3,000
Apparently this is my top 5, thats about right, HMHB's album was the best one released this year in my opinion & I got into The Lovely Eggs after ignoring them for years.
1, Jacks been to the National - Half Man Half Biscuit 2. Rawlplugs of yesteryear - Half Man Half Biscuit 3. McCalliog & his hens - Half Man Half Biscuit 4. Nothing/Everything - The Lovely Eggs 5. Death Grip Kids - The Lovely Eggs
Making a segue from the Formula1 thread I revisited the old debate on what is or isn't a sport. Early thoughts include..
Cooper's Hill annual cheese rolling competition..DEFINITELY a sport,,bodies on the line, multiple concussions and fractures provides a true gladiatoral spectacle.
World Conker Championships..DEFINITELY a sport..inclusive entry criteria, high skills and sportsmanship in the true Olympian spirit.
London Marathon..NO WAY A SPORT...As far as I can tell that is just 50,000 masochists forlornly chasing 4 or 5 very rapid Kenyans through East London on a Sunday morning.
The total number of page hits in November was the 3rd biggest total since January 2018, just goes to show that a bit of instability in the managerial department stirs people up.
On happy none, at the Ajax game that was abandoned there was a terminally ill Ajax fan who was there to watch his last game and watched it from a hospital bed at pitch side.
Obviously he didn't see much as the game was bandoned after 5 minutes, but Ajax have got permission for him to be the only supporter in the stadium when it is replayed behind closed doors today
I know that quite a few people on here enjoy their cricket, so very sad news that the death of Robin Smith one of Hampshire's finest has been announced.
It seems very convenient to me that Formula 1 reaches its climax next weekend with three drivers still in contention for the title.
Oscar Piastri was storming along in the Championship and then inexplicably went off the boil which allowed Lando Norris to catch up and then take over the title lead.
Then both Piastri and Norris get disqualified in the same race, allowing Verstappen to catch up.
Then suddenly Piastri finds his form again this weekend just gone.
It all feels very fishy to me. Over to you Jelly to fill in the gaps for me.
-10 now.. This is complete bullsh@t. It’s the fans who suffer due to the incompetence of the owners I’m a Saints fan all the way through but seeing another club being slaughtered by the FA is disgraceful. This could be any team in the championship who goes down this road. They might as well down tools and give up for this season. Leicester and ManCity I really hope you have it coming to you. If not then why not ?..
A match was abandoned in the eEidivisie in Holland yesterday due to excessive fireworks Ajav V FC Groningen was stopped after 5 minutes due to the prrotechnics, it was re started after a 45 minute break, but then abandoned after the pyrotechnics kicked off again, apparently the 3rd game Ajax have had abandoned due to this in the last 2 years
1. I bought my dearest pint ever in a pub by London Bridge, £8.40 for a pint of Camden Hells, I had a pint of Budvar next that was £8.50, criminal price, the Market Porter in Borough Market was charging £7.20 for Camden Hells, so pure profiteering .
2. On a brighter note as I was talking to someone as the second half kicked off, one of the staff in the refreshment kiosk came over and said would you all like a free pint, as they had some already poured left over, so that was pleasing, it did mean though I watched our first goal on the TV screen
3. Although there were a lot of police, it seems that they are far happier these days to let fans mingle on the tube between the ground and London Bridge, there wasn't any trouble, but in the past this would have been unthinkable
4. One day Ill do that Bermondsey Beer mile thing, rather than London Bridge, at least you will get a decent overpriced pint, rather than the Manchester or Burton brewed beers Heineken, Birra Moretti & Cruzcampo etc in most pubs these days.
5. One defeat doesn't mean a lot in the grand scale of things
Oozing respect. Koeman was such a powerful leader, who.wqs.so respected, experienced and successful as a player and manager, he could give players home truths in public with such passion and power.
