Well, according to the polls that just isn't true is it?

Ref the LINK I gave earlier, we are the 8th most popular place to visit in the country according to Which. We aint in the first list as that is for 20 biggest cities only. It not hard to understand.

Congratulation on Butty clearly seeing your city as a dump. Its only when people wake up to the facts, that something can be done about it.

Honest Review here of the UK's biggest cities. Where is your city?

They’re just journos aren’t they, and their clickbait has just got worse and worse, especially since they have been distanced by the club. Fans don’t get on board with much of their stuff, and actually most of the breaking stories come through the fans and often the BBC journalist who gets some of the inside track.

Sales of the Snooze has completely nose-dived, and now they make much of their profit by selling their paper electronically to other outlets. I expect your local rag will be going the same way.

All the BS is a bit like all the media saying England are going to kick ass at the world cup. Honestly Nick, its not hard to understand.

Just saw the thread and spent 3 mins checking the 'best atmosphere in England'

Try it, it doesn't take long, and you may even find your club hiding in one of the lists.

Also useful for a future reference to win my next argument as well

Certainly is. Always lot of material to use to fill the pages on this subject though isn't there?

Nice to see your club mentioned

Now the dust has settled and I’ve calmed down let’s re-visit Spygate
at 18:32 3 Jun 2026

I think you've farted on this whole thread, and for some reason people have been lapping it up. Not all, but most.

The £200m shouldn't be inherited by cheats. There have been incidents previously, and your club hasn't learnt from them. The rules were tightened but for some reason people at your club thought they could get away with it, and stood above the rules. Now a lot of your fans hate Boro. Boro never cheated, and if it had been another club with your spy at their training ground, we would have had the same result ; but for some reason a lot of your fans don't get this.

As Clint Eastwood almost famously said "£200m is a lot of money, we're gonna have to earn it" ; but alas, your club didn't want to earn it, you wanted to cheat to get it.

Now the dust has settled and I’ve calmed down let’s re-visit Spygate
at 15:21 3 Jun 2026

So, lets get this right. A player who played pretty much spent the first 17 years of his playing football life in Scotland with 6 spells and 5 clubs, but who then had 8 weeks in England on loan would have formed lifelong bonds there?

This, despite the fact that when his playing career was over he managed in Iceland where he had finished his career before moving back to Scotland in management and coaching roles for 3 different clubs.

He had 10 playing spells at 9 clubs of which all of them bar the Middlesbrough spell were permanent moves. He played one solitary game at Boro on loan and bever returned to England in any football capacity after leaving, and this English spell was 32 years before Spygate.

He spent at least a season at every single club, apart from Boro. The only time he ‘returned to England’ was when he joined a law firm as a Solicitor in St Albans.

Well, maybe all the above facts are why this Winnie chap was not seen to have been compromised, and was accepted by all parties prior to the hearing. It really is straw-grasping to make this minute point such a big issue.

A Thank You To Tonda Eckert
at 13:57 27 May 2026

Steve Smith and David Warner. Both had an edge about them, but were massive cheaters and got caught. Both served bans.

Ben Johnson, what an amazing sprinter. He certainly had something about, but sadly cheated and got caught. Banned for life.

That fencer in the Olympics. What a genius working out how to get a false hit via a clever bit of electronics on his sword. A genius, but a cheating one. Banned for life.

Luis Resto. He really had that certain something about him. His trainer removed his padding from his boxing gloves and soaking his hand-wraps in plaster. Got caught cheating and banned for life. Also got jailed for 2 ½ years.

Tonya Harding. Ruthless, organized to get her main Olympic Skating rival Nancy Kerrigan injured by a mob sent by Harding’s ex husband. Got caught, had US national title removed, and also banned for life.

Lance Armstrong, he certainly was ruthless and determined, but cheated on an industrial scale and got caught. Had all his grand tour wins removed for life. Banned for life.

Tonda Eckert. Team member caught spying leading up to the play-off game for a place in the biggest one-off financial bonanza game in world club football. Subsequently his team revealed to have cheated at least 3 times, and there are rumours of many other occasions. Revealed to be bullying young team members to get his info. Caught spying inside the 72 hour limit set specifically set aside by the EFL for cheating. A determined character, a bully, meticulous in his research, but certainly has something about him, and is a winner. Thankyou.

If I was a proper troll, I would have been on the site all week.

Just giving some advice, as at present a lot of your fanbase are still in denial

Your club is in the league of its own at present, when it comes to embarrassment

Harsh, but true .. and you know it

Do you seriously think that this bloke can get you promoted if he isn’t cheating?

The only reason he has great stats is because he was cheating. The only reason he got all the players onside and gave them confidence is because he was cheating.

He won’t have all the players onside this time, he won’t have anywhere the same stats, and enough fans will turn on him when and if the results drop down too significantly. .

Then you have the players who will be getting out of the club. Will your club be able to get enough quality players coming in due to the cloud sitting over your club?

I would also imagine that enough coaches will be cheesed off about this and will share ideas about how to stop your team.

Justice has to be seen to be served, and that includes re-admitting the club who were spied on at the biggest hurdle.

Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio were all punished for the Calciopoli scandal.

Juventus were stripped of the Serie A title and relegated to Serie B, and Fiorentina and Lazio were banned from competing in the next Champions League and UEFA cup respectively.

There is no shit storm, there are clear and identifiable rules. There is no way your club should be allowed to partake in a £200 million game with enormous financial gains after shown to be cheeting on at least 3 occasions.

The 2024 Olympic finals year long bans for the Canadian coaches for cheeting by FIFA should have informed your officials they were playing with fire.
