Yes, he was a great leader & I'm sure would have made a good Captain for us but he never was.

I agree that Jordan Pickford was MOM.
He was fearless & immense , he proved a lot of his doubters wrong.
But it would be wrong to single anyone out, it was the best team performance I've seen from an England team for a very long time.
Lots of passion, lots of effort & a real togetherness.
Bring on Norway & we've got to replicate the Mexico performance to get into the Semis. |

I agree Harry Maguire should have gone & played.
And neither of our full backs are good enough defensively.
We will get badly exposed against a good team.
And we can't just rely on Harry Kane to get us out of jail. |

Agreed, he's not that good if he couldn't get regular games at Ipswich.
We need to bring in players at least as good if not better than the ones we have.
He's probably chosen to go to Scotland because he's guaranteed a regular game which he wouldn't have got here.
The only reason we went for him was because he was a freebie.

We should benefit from Spurs signing Mateus Fernández fir a staggering 85M.
He's good & will only get better but 85M is a bit steep.
Assuming we had a sell on clause when we sold him to West Ham then we should get some reward from that fee. |

NZ players couldn't believe or understand what we were playing at.
It was just as if we were treating it as a Charity Match, had they forgotten that it was actually a Test Match. |

Did anyone watch England v NZ test match.
I was shocked that Ben & the Team Management decided to announce his retirement half way thru the 4th day of a Test Match.
Then for him to open the Batting & play Kamikaze Cricket by swinging at everything & giving his wicket away.
It set the trend & others did exactly the same.
I found the whole thing a tad embarrassing.
It looks like they decided that Stokes's ego was more important than the result.
Apologies for this post to non cricket fans (which is what I am).

Agreed that Reece James shouldn't be there.
He not an international defender & look at his injury record.
He misses more games than he plays.
John Stones is another who's always injured.

I've heard of all of them, but wouldn't rate too many of them as International Class.
So many players getting selected for England these days, I think if you wear size 9 boots you get a game.
When we won the World Cup in 66 Alf Ramsey only used 15 players in the whole of the competition.
A lot to be said for continuancy, it breeds consistency. |

Typical England.
Over hyped & under performed.
Offensively we ran out of ideas against a strong, well drilled defence.
On just the couple of occasions that Ghana got into our half we were all over the place & panic set in.
There's no way that any team can win a World Cup with a poor defence.
Our defence is just so bad, last night we had a back four that had never played together before & it showed big time.
That was the case against Croatia, we defended badly & got away with it but we won't get away with it against the better teams. |

Please tell me that this is just a rumour.
There's no way that I would want JWP back here.
I always thought that he was just average, he was hard working & efficient but there were so many things that he was not good at.
He had no pace.
He had no vision to play a telling ball
He always looked to play sideways & backwards.
He was not strong in the tackle & not a ball winner.
His limitations have been cruelly exposed since he left us & he's been unable to get regular game time at West Ham + Forest + Burnley.
He would be a massive downgrade on what we currently have.. |

Agreed.
They are only good signings if they are better than what we have.
That's been the problem in previous seasons we have replaced good players with inferior players (with just a couple of exceptions). |

I'd have him back, he's a decent full back & a lot was expected of him when playing in our struggling Premier lge side.
He's not better than James Bree but could provide good cover for us because Jelert has ended his loan period with us. |

Any one remember Hassan Kachoul ?.
He was on the TV panel commentating on last nights match Brazil v Morocco.
I thought he was a decent player for us while he was here.
Also Morocco were very impressive against an unimpressive Brazillian team..

West Ham might be asking for 80M but no chance that they'll get that much.
They are not exactly in any position to barter.
I think more realistic will be 55M or similar. |

It's amazing how many Managers / Coaches are leaving clubs this summer either by choice or being sacked.
There will be an abundance of Coaches after jobs at new clubs during this close season.
After what's gone on at our club & lots of consideration I personally hope that we keep Tonda assuming the FA allow us to. |
