Michael Salisbury the referee, utterly pathetic as usual.
at 19:31 10 Mar 2024

Brighton v Forest this afternoon.

Yellow card for a Brighton player who subsequently committed another bookable offence which was worse than his first. Instead of sending him off Salisbury bottled it and only warned him.

Later in the game another Brighton player tackles with both feet off the ground missing the ball and injuring the Forest player. Salisbury only booked the player (a decision upheld by V A R) when it was obvious to every man and his dog that he should have been sent off in the first place.

How this man is a professional referee is totally beyond me. He’s not fit to officiate a Parks Sunday league fixture.

Does Russell Martin need to take a break to get his head together ?
at 12:25 25 Feb 2024

On the way home yesterday I listened on the radio to the managers interview with Adam Blackmore.Quite understandably Martin was disappointed and was somewhat tetchy.

However, if I heard it correctly Martin confirmed that he had become involved in an argument with a home fan seated behind the Saints dugout.

I watched the match highlights this morning and when the game finished Martin refused to shake hands with the Millwall keeper.

Perhaps it would be a good time for Martin to take a break from the pressure of management, let someone else take the team at Liverpool and then come back refreshed for the remainder of the league season beginning on Saturday.

Seriously, what was Russell Martin thinking when he picked tonight’s team?
at 00:02 21 Feb 2024

A team selection straight out of the Ralph playbook lifted from the bad days of the Premiership.

Fraser and Brooks scored good goals at West Brom and both are dropped for the next home game, why?

We ended up with the team that in the main every man and his dog could see should have started.

An utterly unnecessary defeat caused by a completely bizarre and utterly baffling choice of starting eleven with the blame resting totally at the managers door.

Time to give Adam Armstrong a rest ?
at 09:27 18 Feb 2024

Difficult to justify on the basis of goals scored to date stats alone I appreciate. However, on the basis of performance during the last three matches to me he looks half a yard off of his normal game.

With other forwards coming into a degree of form maybe it’s time to try somebody else from kick off on Tuesday ?

Why so much negativity about our draw at Watford today?
at 19:33 28 Jan 2024

Reasons to be positive:-

1. Not the best display in the world but it keeps the unbeaten run going ahead of our game at Rotherham on Saturday.

2. The club benefits financially from 45% of the gate money from the replay and all of the profit from sales on the day including hospitality, food and drink in the concourse and sales in the club shop.

3. If we progress against Watford in the replay we go to Liverpool for a further 45% of the gate money. In addition if the game is televised there is further income from the broadcasters.

Seriously, from a business ( which after all the club is ) perspective what’s not to like compared to being dumped out of the competition today ?
