The Saints support deserves special praise for Saturday.

Last week i appealed for Saints supporters to get behind their team and show up in droves for the two home games this week, for the first against Peterborough even i can have no complaints as 22,177 not only showed up but got behind the team for most of the game and created a great atmosphere.

The attendance itself was what I would have expected given our crowds both this season and last, however the preceding games had to be bolstered by supporters getting cheap tickets, yesterday there was no such enticement which made the crowd all that more satisfying.

Now having shown that the average attendance figure can rise Saints fans have to do it week in week out and play their part in a push towards the top 2, its a position that just out of our reach at present even if we beat Brighton, but Saints supporters once again have to show up in force and loud voice especially as it looks like the biggest away following of the season bar Bournemouth is likely to be in attendance.

Hopefully the Bournemouth league gate will be beaten and I have a sneaking suspicion that the attendance could push towards the 30,000 mark if a few more rally to the cause.

Good that they were singing a few SRL and trying to encourage him.....he had a cracking season last year and deserves some a little slack. Thought him a barnard linked quite well in the 1st half
