Renewing Your Season Ticket - A Public Service Announcement
Renewing Your Season Ticket - A Public Service Announcement
Monday, 11th Jul 2011 09:06

As reported there have been a few queue down at St Mary's heres how you can make them shorter.

Those who have been down and renewed their season tickets last week found that the queue waiting times were so long due to the processing involved for those renewing who wished to buy tickets with concessions, ie kids and pensioners to coin a phrase.

The problem seems to have been caused by the ticket office wanting to view proof of age for the person seeking the concession despite the fact that they would have had this concession last season an in some cases for a number of years, but not only do they want to see that proof they are also photo copying it as well which holds up the line even more.

There is no mention of the need to bring proof of age on the web site announcements and I assume that it cannot be asked for if you make your application vie the phone or internet so it does seem strange that they are asking for  it for those that apply in person.

Those that do not have it where being turned away on Friday, our man on the spot reported seeing an OAP clearly well over 65 being rfused his renewal despite protesting that firstly he looked his age and secondly he had in fact had the concession ever since St Mary's opened.

So a tip for those planning to go down in person would be to take a form of ID with you for yourself and anyone else whom you are renewing the ticket for, if you are really feeling charitable take a photo copy with you as well so you can give it to the ticket office and save them photocopying it.

Of course they may now have changed this requirement, this is purely a report from a supporter so we cant be held responsible if they dont ask for your ID nor if the ID you take is deemed unacceptable

Thank god they removed the concession for 60-64 yr olds, the queue would have been twice as long. Another great piece of forward thinking by cortese

Never before have anyone been asked for proof of age, either kids or pensioners.
I know someone who changed to an over 60's ticket when he was 60 , but was not asked for any PROOF of his age. They just took his word for it. He bought cup tickets in person and online without having to prove his age.
Now they are tightening things up and being more businesslike

Good tips for those who dont know. Perhaps its deliberate so they can make more money as the car park rules have changed ? A good idea to prove age as alot of younger people scam the system regulary so I think its a ggod idea to have a proof check or a Saints Census lol.

I know of adults buying kids season tickets, as the booklet is the same colour as an adult ticket,so i am glad the club are weeding out the people who are ripping the club off, only one don cortese.

No problem with the club weeding out those who are abusing the system, my only point is why not tell people that they are going to need to bring ID when they are renewing and I take it that those who renew over the phone or online arent subject to the same checks so its not really solving the whole problem
