Despite calling for patience a couple of weeks ago, the Leeds United Supporters Trust are clearly getting anxious over the prolonged matter of due- diligence and urged the club to update the fans.

In a revealing radio interview yesterday, Neil Warnock told talksport it had been a "difficult" summer due to the uncertainty over the future direction the club is heading in.

Warnock has missed out on at least one target, Joel Ward and seems to be keen on keeping Aidy White, Robert Snodgrass and Ross McCormack but until new paymasters are installed improved contract offers for the trio are unlikely and Leeds are in a vulnerable situation regarding their futures as things stand.

White reportedly has three potential suitors, Celtic, Ipswich and Derby. Snodgrass was subject to a failed bid from Norwich again this week and Warnock revealed five clubs want McCormack.

To bring in players, Warnock clearly is having to "wheel and deal" using the cash generated from the sales of Adam Clayton and Andy Lonergan to bring in Paddy Kenny and hopefully Rodolph Austin next week.

The Leeds United Supporters Trust, who urged "patience" earlier this month are clearly feeling anxious and claimed the ongoing situation could harm the teams chance of success next season.

On their website, they urged the club to "make a positive statement without jeopardising negotiations" .

I must admit, I have not always been supportive of the Trust, in some respects the "Bates Out" stuff last season created an evil, counter- productive atmosphere inside the stadium and some fans seemed hell- bent on baiting Bates (who often was not even in the Northern hemisphere let alone the ground!) but there is no doubting their good intentions to see our club move forward to the next level.

Bates yesterday was tracked down in Monaco yesterday and issued a firm "no comment" to ESPN journalist Harry Harris.

Whoever is thinking of buying the club will need an army of lawyers and accountantants to unravel the mountain of paperwork and mystery that exists between Beeston and the British Virgin Islands, but it is getting to the stage now where I am almost apathetic to the situation and could not care less if the new owners had millions to match Man City or a more modest disposable income that will secure Warnock more solid if slightly unspectacular signings.

I just want the deal done, end of!
