Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins says that Leeds are getting the media attention they wanted

Almost every day you pick up the paper and the Leeds saga has almost glossed over the glorious success that the Swans have achieved this season.  And when you think about that then almost everyone connected with Swansea City can feel aggrieved by that factor this season.

From a side that was struggling close to mid table last February, there has been a marked improvement in just about every area of the club over the past 14 months and it has been confirmed by promotion which was won the Saturday before last or, if you live in world, Leeds United, last Saturday.

And whether there is silverware for Garry Monk to lift this season or not it is irrelevant as next season only one League One side currently knows that they are playing in next season's Championship and that is Swansea City.

And Jenkins was keen to point out the achievements of his side rather than worry about what three men and a dog will decide when the arbitration panel finally announce their decision next week.

“This whole issue has gained a lot of media attention and that’s probably what Leeds wanted,” said Jenkins in today's Western Mail.

“But we’ve got to get on with our own issues and the top one this year for us was winning promotion to the Championship.

“We have achieved that come what may and I believe that’s what matters most to Swansea City supporters.

“Of course we’d like to win the League if we can, that’s obvious, but the fact is we have achieved our goal and we’re looking towards next season.”

And the same can be said for every other fan of the club - roll on June and the announcement of the Championship fixtures.
