Saints go to Ashton Gate looking to emulate their last visit.

Saints have always had a good record at Ashton Gate, a visit in the League Cup four years ago saw a comprehensive win and prior to that our last league meeting in December 1979 ended in a 1-0 win in arctic conditions, but a lot of things have changed over the years, even the last four.

However Saints are finally starting to get some form together, three wins out of the last four have seen them move slowly but surely up the league and despite injury problems we even managed to register only our second clean sheet of the season on Sunday.

But we now need to keep this run going, Bristol City have been early pace setters and its games like this that we need to win to haul ourselves into the promotion frame ourselves.

Apart from at the back where its more a case of who is fit, we have plenty of options as we do up front and if the back four can hold firm than the Robins will find that we have major firepower having scored in every game so far, our real strength lies in depth and the quality on the bench, if we can stay tight then sides can never rest on their laurels against us because we have options to change games, Gregorz Rasiak, Bradley Wright Phillips and Jason Euell would get in the starting line up of most Championship sides, yet at the moment can only get on our bench, as can Andrew surman and Adam Hamill, in short our options our our strength.

In reality a draw looks the best bet for a result and in truth wouldnt be too bad for Saints, Bristol City havent been beaten in home in their first five outings, but three of those games have been draws, with Saints though, its always a case of the unexpected and they are quite capable of ending this unbeaten run, City have based their early season form on away results, its time to bring them back down to earth.

Saints to win 3-1.
