Trundle Warns Of Bristol City Threat

Lee Trundle has warned his Swansea team mates of the Bristol City threat on Saturday at Ashton Gate

The Swansea City striker is on loan at the Liberty from Bristol City and, as such, will play no part in the weekend's game due to the terms of his loan move.

The Robins have recently parted company with manager Gary Johnson and that - Trundle believes - has given the team a lift and the Swans need to be aware of that at the weekend.

“With Gary Johnson going it seems to have given the lads a second wind, they have all picked up and everyone at the club seems to be very upbeat and looking forward." he told the Western Mail

“Bristol is always a hard game and it is going to be a very tough test.

“You would think they are probably a bit too far away from the play-offs, but when a team like Bristol is in with a shout of a play-off place they are always going to keep on going right until the end of the season.

“It is a very big game for us on Saturday, Bristol is going to be very difficult because they are a good side.

“Aston Gate is a hard place to go and play, but I am confident the lads can go there and get the result that we need.

“Obviously I am a bit gutted that I won’t be involved because of the rules of my loan, but I am confident that the lads can go there and get a win.”

Trundle was a late substitute in Monday's 3-0 win over Scunthorpe at the Liberty - their first win in 7 games.

“It was nice to get a big win after such a disappointment last weekend,” said Trundle.

“A game like the one against Cardiff means everything to us because we know what it means to the fans and it is massive, so it was good to get back to winning ways and give the fans a couple of goals as well.

“There was never going to be any nerves from us, it was a bad result against Cardiff, but it was all about picking ourselves back up and coming into the next game.

“We knew we had to win against Scunthorpe and thankfully we did it very well.

“We’ve been through a bit of a rough patch recently, but now we’ve got the win that we needed and we can hopefully build on the confidence from that going into the Bristol game and the rest of the games this season.

“We are creating good chances and against Scunthorpe. We had a lot of shots on goal and that is the way we want to play against Bristol on Saturday.

“It is hard going through games when you haven’t won in a while, but that is behind us now so it takes a little of the pressure off for Bristol but we know how important the game is.

“As a squad, we are very confident, we believe we’ve got good ability in the squad and that we can go out and score goals and win games.

“We have to show that when we go to Bristol on Saturday and for the rest of the run-in.”
