Refwatch Preview: Dale v Hartlepool
Thursday, 1st Aug 2013 08:00 by TVOS

Referee Michael Bull makes the long journey from Essex this weekend to start his first season as a Football League referee.

Mr Bull spent the majority of last season refereeing in the Blue Square Premier League, although he did receive a League Two appointment in February.

As part of a scheme assessing referees ahead of potential promotion, he was handed the fixture between Wycombe and York, which the home side won 4-0.

Another 4-0 home win concluded Michael’s career at non-league level, yet it was a very infamous match.

The game in question was Kidderminster v Stockport on the final day of the Blue Square season, when defeat for County saw them relegated and led to ugly scenes involving their fans, the players and the police.
