R's Captain Martin Rowlands is hoping that QPR's Italian connection will help resurrect his international career.

Following reports in the London Paper, QPR boss, Luigi De Canio has vowed to call in a favour with new Republic of Ireland boss, Giovanni Trapatonni in a bid to help resurrect Martin Rowlands International career.

Rowlands, who is hottly tipped to be crowned QPR's Player of the Year, has made 2 appearance for the Republic of Ireland back in 2004.

Luigi De Canio told the London Paper;

'I have a deal with Martin, if he behaves and plays well, then I will call Giovanni and get him to watch one of our games.

I would be immensly happy if Trapatonni decided he needed a player in his team like Martin Rowlands. It would be excellent recognition of both his hard work and mine.'

Trapatonni's first game in charge for the Republic is at Croke Park on the 24th May, against Serbia. They later will take on Columbia at Craven Cottage.
