Gylfi Praises The Swans Fans

The one thing that you can guarantee about Swansea fans is that they will back their team in numbers, especially when there is a tour to be had with maybe, just maybe, the odd beer or three thrown in as well.

One of the things you could pick out yesterday was the noise of the Swans fans and having spoken to a few that made the trip out to Munich the team were backed with a noisy following as ever as they beat 1860 Munich 2-1 in the final game of the tour.

And it was not a support that was unnoticed by the players either with Gylfi Sigurdsson praising of the Swans fans that did travel as he told the club's official site “The supporters have been fantastic on this tour

“It was arranged at short notice, but they still came out here to get behind us.

“We could hear them singing away and that was brilliant for us. It just shows they will do whatever they can to travel and support this club.”

Sigurdsson was one of the Swans' players of the year last term thanks to his great performances, assists and goals along the way and he was glad to see the likes of Bafetimbi Gomis amongst the goals, the striker grabbing the winning goal in the latest game

“We need the strikers to be scoring goals. It’s very important in the Premier League to have a striker that’s scoring goals week in, week out,” he added.

“Bafe took his goal very well. It’s the type of quality we expect of him. Bafe is an important player and everyone in the squad knows he can score a lot of goals this season, and hopefully he can do just that.

“Eder has also gelled in nicely. He’s a tall lad that’s strong and is sharp too. Hopefully he’ll get a couple of goals in the next few games and I’m sure he’ll do well for us this season.”
