Remember that Blackburn performance on your coupon — betting

Professional odds compiler Owen Goulding looks ahead to QPR’s Saturday trip to Hull, and for value elsewhere on the weekend coupon where he fancies Blackburn to finally get their first win of the season.

QPR travel north on Saturday for one of the harder looking away fixtures in the calendar.

Hull have won all three home games this season and added a first away win of the season in Wales on Tuesday. Steve Bruce changed the system back to his previously successful wing-back formation for the Cardiff match and the players didn't disappoint with a comfortable 2-0 victory. It is likely this formation will continue at the weekend.

As for QPR, there is no getting away with the fact the last two home performances have been very substandard and out of context with Rangers’ performances prior to the closing of the transfer window. It seems that Ramsey isn’t entirely sure of either the formation or personnel he wishes to play. It may be a case of too many cooks spoil the broth at the moment but he needs to address the defensive midfield situation as it is clearly a problem since Daniel Tozser came in as he is such a similar player to Henry. Since Ale Faurlin came out of the team, the intricate passing between the Argentinian and Tjaronn Chery and Massimo Luongo ahead of him has been sorely missed. I was concerned about whether Faurlin would be able to come back from such a serious injury but it’s clear to see he knits the play together so well for the hoops and it’s no surprise we have failed to win since he came out of the side.

Team news for the Tigers sees Snodgrass, Maloney (thankfully) and Diomande remain on the sidelines. Livermore is back in full training and may get a sniff of a chance of a return to the bench here. Danger man Abel Hernandez will be looking forward to bullying the Rangers fragile defence with support from the excellent Mo Diame. It’s hard to see QPR winning here, especially at the moment when performances are so disjointed. If Ramsey starts with tactical clones Henry and Tozser, I would be a definite player of the Hull win at Even money. And unfortunately, I think he will.

Reccomended Bet: Hull to Win @ Evens (General)

Elsewhere, despite the bet of the weekend going awry, another big price goalscorer added to our running profits when Lewin Nyatanga netted for Barnsley last week at a tasty 12/1.

My bet of weekend comes this week at Ewood Park where Wednesday’s opponents Blackburn can get their first win of the season against Charlton who are suddenly struggling a bit. It'll be the battle of the brusiers and the ball will be elevated more often than not, but Blackburn can out muscle their south London rivals at a nice price of Even money.
