Curtis - Guidolin Is The Manager

He may have the title of head coach but Alan Curtis is under no desire to retain the manager position and insists that the new man is the manager of the club and he is ready to talk to him to see what his plans are.

Curtis led the Swans to a vitally important win over Watford at the Liberty Stadium this evening, a win that lifted us out of the Premier League's bottom three dropping Newcastle back into that position.

A headed goal from Ashley Williams in the first half was the difference between the two sides as head coach Guidolin watched on from the stands.

The club announced him as head coach earlier this afternoon with Curt retaining the title of manager but the Swans legend is happy to hand over the reigns to Guidolin having been in charge since the sacking of Garry Monk last month.

"You couldn't have a joint managership. It's got to be one or the other and I am quite happy for Francesco to have that," Curtis said

"I haven't spoken to him yet, but I am sure we will speak tomorrow if we don't get the chance tonight.

"My Italian is probably as good as his English, but he has brought a coach (Gabriele Ambrosetti) with him who speaks English who will do some coaching and act as an interpreter.

"I am sure once we get out on the training field and he gets his ideas across, we will be okay.

"I have said all along that I would be quite happy to stand aside if the club felt it was necessary to bring somebody in.

"If we had won more games than we have, possibly there wouldn't have been a need."
