Ryan Seager Signs New Deal And Heads Out On Loan
Friday, 21st Jul 2017 12:28

Ryan Seager has signed a new deal at St mary's but will now be joining MK Dons on loan, Arron Sanders runs the rule over the news.

Ryan Seager will be heading to MK Dons on loan but not before the 21-year-old striker had inked a new deal that runs until 2019, and he now heads out to gain valuable first team experience with the league one side.

Seager was plagued by injury last season, but made an instant impact with a goal against Reading under-23s upon his return, and expressed his delight to have extended his stay at the club.

On his new contract, Seager said: “When I got the news I was going to sign a new contract, I was very happy.

“I’ve been here since I was about 7 or 8 years old so there was never any questions about me signing really.

“The medical staff were great with me last season in helping me get back fit and this has given me the confidence that they still believe in me and they know I can get back to what I was doing before.”

And having scored his first professional goal in League One during a loan spell at Crewe, a more experienced Seager is hoping to make his mark at that level once more.

Reflecting on his loan, he said: “I’m really happy with that. I had a brief loan spell at Crewe before but this time I feel like I’m more prepared and more ready for it.

“I went there a few days ago to meet him and we got on really well. The philosophy he wants to play with suits my style of play so I can’t wait to start working with him.”

It's to see saints allowing their youngsters to go out on loan and further their development on top of securing them onto new contracts.

I am sure we all look forward to seeing how Ryan and the over loanees fair this campaign with their respective clubs.

Good move for him. Certainly knows where the back of the net it, and getting some experience and scoring goals in the Football League can only be of benefit for him. Come back stronger Ryan :)
