In a way, we are victims of our own mis management. We have let slip through our fingers some of the biggest talent top class football have ever known: Adkins, Pochettino, Koeman, Bale, Walcott, Oxlade- Chamberlain, Wanyama, Lambert, Mane, van Dyke, Shaw, Clyne to name but a few and what have we got to show for it? All the aforesaid have left because the grass really is greener elsewhere. Its no wonder Walcott chose Everton! What have we got to offer him? A club statement said that we did all we could to bring him back! What was that exactly? What did we have to offer him as opposed to Everton? The answer is simple, NOTHING. Kevin Kilbane had it right on football focus today, he said that "he has never seen a club so lacking in ambition, effort and fight for a long time". There is no appropriate leadership to sustain a continued presence in the premiership. So it is a mystery to me as to the sort of carrot that was dangled. Theo must have thought to himself "you're having a laugh. If Pelligrino remains as manager after a severe thrashing from Spurs this weekend. Then we will certainly know what the board think of the club! Marching on to where exactly? | |
