Rodon injury a blow but not a critical one

The one thing that has gone in the Swans favour this season has been the lack of injuries which has meant that - more often than not - Graham Potter has had a good squad to select from in terms of numbers anyway.

We haven't been totally without injuries - Tom Carroll and Martin Olsson spring to mind here - but he has been afforded the luxury of being able to pick from largely his full squad and, of course, we know that he has chosen to use many of them so far this season.

In recent weeks as well he has taken. to naming an unchanged side. Indeed, had he not picked McBurnie again yesterday then it would have been three consecutive games with the same starting line-up - something completely unheard of before the turn of the year.

He was though forced into two changes yesterday with injuries to both Rodon and McBurnie with the former being confirmed as a broken metatarsal and out for at least six weeks therefore not seeing him back in action until March.

Rodon has been one of the finds of the season and will be missed but the presence of CCV at the back yesterdsay was a good one and he took his chance well, something that we can hope he will continue to do in the coming weeks.

It will add to the Swans window dilemma and whether we will consider a move into the market for another back up at centre half which, given the comments in the week about lack of funds, will surely only be a loan move and therefore not necessarily something that we would want to see?

We do have options to work with across the back in the case of another injury but with one of our better performers this season out then it does create the first real hole that Potter has had to face but certainly one that he has the player capable of filling.
