Liverpool Game Sells Out ! Ticket Exchange Open !
Wednesday, 20th Mar 2019 09:01

Liverpool may be much aligned by Saints fans but it is still the most popular fixture even though the Merseyside club haven't won a title in almost 3 decades.

Saints fans like to slag off Liverpool, but it is still the team they most want to see judging by the fact that it is the game that sells out the quickest, or sadly these days at all.

None of the other Big Six clubs truly have the pulling power of Liverpool, even Manchester United, the game against them this season being 1,500 or so below capacity.

That has also been the case for the visit's of Manchester City, Chelsea & Arsenal all of which this season have failed to sell out, only Spurs in the last home game did so and that only the day or so before kick off.

For these games many excuses were used as to why Saints fans were not attending including the changes in date and kick off time etc, the Liverpool fixture though has perhaps the most hated day and time to play football of all though Friday night at 8pm, yet it has still sold out well in advance.

Of course the upturn in Saints fortunes of late has led to a change in mood amongst Saints supporters and that will have contributed to the sell out with well over two weeks to go.

But these days a sell out at St Mary's never means a sell out because of the ticket exchange, a system where season ticket holders unable to go to a game that is sold out can resell their tickets via the club.

That means that there are now a flurry of tickets on the market, in many cases better than those that have been available for the last week or so.

But the availability changes by not just the hour but the minute and what is available now could change in an instant as tickets are bought and sold quickly, so if you log on and there are none available keep logging back in and you will probably find what you are looking for, but it is very hit and miss given the nature of the system.

I think you may have intended "maligned" but given the number of our former players they now have, perhaps "aligned" was the correct word!

"The team Saints fans most want to see" get beat.
They are the Skates' understudies.

How many of these extra tickets sold are going to Liverpool supporters living locally? During the Arsenal home game a few months ago, I was surrounded by Gooners.
