Danny Ings Back For Wolves Game
Thursday, 11th Apr 2019 15:11

Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that after being unable to play against Liverpool last Friday Danny Ings is fit and raring to go to try and tame the Wolves at St mary's on Saturday.

Danny Ings missed the Liverpool game as he was unable to play against his parent club whilst on loan at Saints, that has meant that after missing two months with injury and returning in the win at Brighton he was forced to take another fortnight off.

That will have hopefully made doubly sure that his hamstring issue is now resolved and made him even more determined to finish the season with a bang, so far Ings has got 7 Premier League goals in 18 starts plus another as sub, that is a decent record for any striker and he will be hoping that he can have a little late burst and push himself into double figures.

he truth these days is that very few players not playing for Big Six clubs manage that feat these days and would be a good return for a full season let alone one that will have seen him miss over a third of the games through injury.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has also confirmed that the only absentees for the visit of Wolves will beMichael Obafemi and Mario Lemina who has not played since the turn of the year, although the Austrian manager has stated that he could yet play some part in this season.

“We have Ingsy back who can play at the weekend. Mario Lemina is still injured and he cannot train with the team at the moment,” Hasenhüttl confirmed.

“Ingsy is always itching to go, he is always with energy and he trains very hard. He wants to come back into the team and to score again.

“Jannik Vestergaard made a good step in the game against Liverpool and he doesn’t have any problems so far. It was important for him that he got through such an intensive game without problems."

“The rest, apart from the more long-term injuries like Michael Obafemi, are in the group so it is not easy for me to pick the 18 or the first team.

“It’s a very interesting atmosphere in the team, it’s a good balance of having fun with what they’re doing but also being very concentrated on what they’re doing in the training sessions and the video sessions.

“We need this because we all know we can make a big step at the weekend. That is what we’re working for.”

Danny has the same "annoying quality " than Shane Long possesses - except for goal tallies - (Ings is still our leading Prem.scorer despite his long injury absences) and personally
I just hope he comes off the pitch on Saturday - as fit as when he went on it.
Whether he scores, or assists - his mere presence in the opposition penalty area is worth it.
