The Real South Coast Derby Is On ! Wednesday, 28th Aug 2019 22:30 In South Hampshire for the next four weeks there will be little talked about other than the clash between Pompey & Saints at Fratton Park The game will take place in the week beginning 23rd September and for the next four weeks both sets of supporters will eagerly await their teams chance of bragging rights for the foreseeable future. Also under discussion will be travel arrangements for the 3,000 or so Saints fans who will be lucky enough to get tickets, last trip to Fratton Park was back in December 2011 and was what was termed a bubble game, meaning that Saints fans could only go if they travelled down in an escorted convoy of buses. That is likely to happen again as that game passed off without serious trouble whereas the previous two fixtures down in Portsmouth between the two clubs had seen major disorder and problems for the police escorting fans back to the train station. I would imagine that with this being a night game the police will be keen to do this again. One thing is for sure though neither club can even consider the thought of playing a weakened team of any sort.
