Late Surge Could See Sell Out For Spurs Cup Tie
Thursday, 23rd Jan 2020 11:13

With a couple of days still to go a late surge in sales to get the cheap prices only available till Friday could see the FA Cup 4th round tie against Tottenham Hotspur sell out.

With all seats priced at only £20 for Adults and Over 65/18-25 £15 with Under 18 £10 if bought before 9am on the day a late surge could see the game sell out with Saints supporters wanting to take up the cheap offer of less than half the price it cost to see the same fixture in the Premier League a few weeks ago.

Prices will rise by £5 in all categories on the day of the game, so with that still being a good price if there are any tickets remaining they could be hoovered up well before kick off.

As of Thursday morning there were approximately 3,000 tickets still available mainly in the Chapel End and Kingsland corners.

The previous round against Huddersfield saw a home support of 20,000 bolstered by a few hundred away fans, so with Spurs taking the full 5,000 allocation so far around 23,000 seats have been sold in the home sections.

For that game there was a late rush in buying tickets in the two days before the game and if the same pattern emerges then it is likely that the game will approach a sell out by Friday evening.

So if you want to see two Premier League teams in action then get in fast to secure your place, I am told that Premier League prices have been the reason that we have had empty seats this season, but there is no excuse for this one if bought in advance, a family of four could watch this game for a total of £60 and given that Pompey are charging £24 for adults to watch their clash with Barnsley in the competition on the same afternoon, Saints have priced this at a resonable level.

Yes, looks like there will be a 30,000 gate. Let's hope the Chapel kop can up its game to compete with the 5,300 Spurs fans in the away end.
