Saints Squad To Remain Home Trained Till Mid April
Friday, 20th Mar 2020 23:35

All those schoolkids who are now home from school for the foreseeable future are being joined by the Saints squad who will continue to train at home.

In light of the latest Premier League statement, confirming that the season will be postponed until 30th April at the earliest, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s squad will continue to follow individual fitness and conditioning work from home.

They will all have been given individual fitness plans to work from, so like the school kids wont just be allowed to st around playing on the play station etc.

The current plan is that the first-team will return to Staplewood Campus on 13th April ahead of the planned recommencement of the season in May, although this date to restart the season looks highly optimistic given the PM's target of beating the virus in 12 weeks.

But Saints can only go with the timescales given and keep adapting as the next few weeks pan out.

All Academy and Girls & Women’s training and fixtures remain postponed until further notice.

Club medical and sports science staff will remain in regular contact with players from all teams to ensure they have the necessary equipment and support to maintain their fitness.

Additionally, the club has advised all staff to work remotely where possible and will be limiting those on site at both St Mary’s and the training complex to essential personnel only.
