Saints are once again being linked with a right back, but it's all old news as it is a long time target they are being touted as chasing.

Joajim Maehle of KRC Genk is again being linked with a move to St Mary's according to media reports on the Continent.

Saints reportably made a bid for him last year but Genk refused to sell but the word is that Saints will be in again and this time the player himself will be a little more insistent about being allowed to go.

Maehle will turn 23 in May and has already notched up 141 games for both Genk and his previous club Aalborg, including 6 in the Champions League.

Genk will be hesitant to sell again as he is a key player for them and the market value of £8 million makes him a bargain buy.

This sounds like the players agent stirring up a bit of interest for his client, but Saints have been interested before and are likely to be intererested again.

We can't predict the outcome of Saints efforts to sign Walker-Peters, especially if Spurs insist on demanding "silly money" for an "as -yet " unproven youngster, who seems to have no place in the future Spurs set-up. Maehle looks a much better bet - especailly if we are talking about an £8 million fee.
