Che Adams has been shortlisted for the Premier League’s player of the month award for October.

The 24-year-old striker scored twice and registered an assist in a month, that Saints were unbeaten in games against West Brom, Chelsea and Everton.

The other nominees for October are Conor Coady (Wolves), Pablo Fornals (West Ham), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min (both Tottenham), Thiago Silva (Chelsea) and Kyle Walker (Manchester City).

Adams has already got off to a good start in November stepping up to the plate after Danny Ings injury at Aston Villa and scoring a goal against Newcastle that flew in and pushed Saints to the top of the League for the first time since 1988.
