Southampton Fined For Sheffield United Melee
Tuesday, 16th Mar 2021 21:06

Saints and Sheffield United have both been fined for their part in a late melee after tempers flared in the recent 2-0 win for Southampton at Bramall Lane.

The two clubs have both been fined a sum of £20,000 each for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

Both clubs admitted breaching Football Association Rule E2 after tempers flared late on in Saints' 2-0 win.

John Fleck's foul on Saints' Che Adams sparked the confrontation.

Fleck was shown a yellow card, with team-mate Oli McBurnie and Southampton's Jannik Vestergaard then booked for their reaction, as both sets of players had a pushing and shoving session, that in truth appeared to be far worse than it actually was.

This just sums up how shit the FA have been this season! I mean you’ve got Bournemouth and Watford having a proper fist fight in there game along with many PL games having incidents way worse than this involving red cards and such, and yet they do bugger all about that, but will fine two teams for an incident that had no red cards whatsoever (and other than the challenge that caused the incident there wasn’t any reason for any reds!)! I mean they’ve been shit with the rules this year, shit with VAR and the scheduling, w3re originally shit with the pay per view issues and now this! I mean a lot needs to change with the FA, not just what they do on the pitch but also off of it!

Time we woke up to the fact that the FA is basically corrupt and are at least partially responsible for ruining the game we all love.

I am glad the FA have sorted that enormous problem out. Now they can move onto less important issues like VAR, cheating/screaming/diving players, refereeing and all the dirty money that funds football.
