With a home attendance averaging only 11,000 it was perhaps predictable that Rotherham would be at the lower end of the scale in terms of away fan numbers at St Mary's this season, so it is no surprise that they have returned tickets for Saturday.

Rotherham United are a team that we have rarely met in the League, indeed the last time we met them in league action was in the then Division 2 in our promotion season to the top flight in 1965/66, so hopefully this is an omen.

The Millers are enjoying some of their best attendances in a while, but with only around 10,000 home supporter, support away from home is obviously in proportion.

They took an initial 1,472 tickets and although it is unclear how many they have sold or returned, Saints have announced that they have put a tranche of tickets in what is usually the away section on sale to home fans.

After the two wins in the last few days and tickets for the fixture starting at only £15 and in the Northam End they are still only £25, so with a wave of optimism creeping back into the Southampton fan base, there could be a late rush for tickets.

With very few tickets left in this part of the ground Saints will be perhaps releasing a couple of blocks if the demand is there.

There are still plenty of tickets available in the other 3 sections of the stadium, but it is still looking like being a crowd approaching 30k again.
