Saints fans were aghast when they heard that Middlesbrough were restricting ticket sales for the Championship Play Off final first leg to just 2,000 tickets, however SFC has responded by only offering the same amount to travelling Boro Fans.

When Saints changed the away section at St Mary's from the Northam End to the Chapel/Kingsland corner, they put in solid barriers on each side of the 3,000 seats.

This hasn't been a problem so far for the first two seasons, but it has posed a question for the game against Middlesbrough.

For the away leg Boro are reducing the allocation for Saints fans to the 2,000 minimum so they can sell the other 1,000 from the usual 3,000 to their own supporters, but it seems that Saints can't do that at St Mary's they look set to offer Boro just 2,000, but leave the remaining 1,000 seats empty in a tit for tat move.

Two years ago against West Brom, Saints did the same, but then they could simply move the segregation netting over a block and sell the 1,000 tickets usually allocated to away fans to Saints supporters.

It's unclear at the moment whether Saints can now do that, they could put a segregation net in place, but whether they have enough entrances and exits to do so is the issue.

So Saints will have a slight advantage in that there will only be 2,000 visiting supporters, but they won't have the benefit of a full house roaring them on as they did two years ago against West Brom and Boro will have on Saturday.
