Tuesday, 19th May 2026 12:24

For those that are heading to Wembley on Saturday (Hopefully at time of asking) there is good news if you are intending to go by train, although there is one bit of disruption you will need to look out for.

South Western Railways have announced their plans for Saturday as 37,000 Saints fans are hoping to be at Wembley stadium for the 4.30pm kick off, they are laying on extra trains in both directions and also implementing a queueing system as Southampton Central Station.

Before the match:

Four trains per hour will run between Southampton Central and London Waterloo
Additional services will operate between and 0830 and 1230
All trains on this route are expected to be busier than usual
Saints supporters using Southampton Central will be required to join queues and wait for the next available service as extra crowd control measures are put in place.

So if Saints chucked out, that's a possible big bill for SWR to hire extra rolling stock, and pay ASLEF Drivers Rest Day Working at Saturday rates! That could be more than any fine!
