The media are reporting that after having their £20 million offer for Shea Charles rejected, Leeds united have returned with an improved offering, but it is not that much more, so is likely to be rejected.

Shea Charles is more than certain to leave St Mary's this summer as the Premier League clubs hover and it seems Leeds are keen to get the deal done early and beat off competition from other clubs including Crystal Palace.

The Daily Echo claim that the new offer is £23million plus add-ons for the Saints midfielder.

Just what the add ons are is not being revealed, however Saints are said to value Charles at £30m, and they will not receive all of that as owe former club Man City 15 per cent of the profit made on his sale due to a contract clause when he joined the club in the summer of 2023.

The club is not blocking the move, it needs the money from this sale to help fund further incoming transfers into St Mary's, but it knows that with other clubs interested, it is in so hurry to sell him quickly when his valuation can be pushed up over the next few weeks.
