Doug-gone? Macca to shuffle his pack
Doug-gone? Macca to shuffle his pack

Jonathan Douglas and Tres Kandol could be on their way out of Elland Road.

On Monday, reports were growing that 26-year-old midfielder and Eire international Jonathan Douglas could be on his way out of Leeds.

Pundits are predicting the ex-Blackburn man will make a return journey across the Pennines, but this time link up with Rovers' bitter-rivals Burnley.

If such move should come off, it would leave Leeds fans with mixed-feelings, whilst Dougie can often be untidy and eratic, his desire and determination is unquestionable and who can forget his long-range effort against Huddersfield last season?

But as reported in Bradford's T&A on Monday night, Douglas who initially arrived at Leeds on-loan from Blackburn in 2005, is one of the highest earners at ER and freeing up his wages may enable Macca to shuffle his pack - the T&A suggesting that trialist veteran Paul Telfer might be offered a contract.

And with Dougie Freedman being told there is no place for him at the Palace, could he make a sensational return to ER having bagged six goals for us whilst on loan last season?

Intriguingly, the T&A also predicted that Tres Kandol may be sold or moved out on loan before the big-kick off at Scunny next Saturday afternoon.

Lanky, gangly striker Kandol is one of those players who infuriates fans, but former boss Dennis Wise was quick to sing his praises and marvel at his work-rate.

However Macca is the man in charge now and it may be the case that he has seen a late opportunity to move out a couple of players he is not 100% sure on, and who would command a small fee in order to bring in some more new-faces on his list to add to the five that have arrived during the summer.
