Aldershot Town manager Kevin Dillon has confirmed that no bid was received from Colchester United for striker Marvin Morgan. The Shots boss has however said that there were talks between the two clubs about the player.

Following reports yesterday that the U's had made a bid for the 27-year-old, Dillon told the Aldershot News & Mail: "I had a good chat with Colchester's manager on the phone and he told me that he was interested in Marvin and that my chairman would be getting a call from his chairman. John wanted me to know the situation.

"The chairmen did speak and Colchester asked what our valuation was for Marvin and, when they heard it, they said they would leave things there, wished us well for the season, and would not be making a bid."
