Nigel Adkins selection headaches are about to increase.

"Iv'e seen Frazer Richardson play" could be a rare and exclusive T Shirt in the Saints megastore, but things are about to change after Saints summer signing from Charlton got a game under his belt in the 7-1 victory over the Nike Academy earlier this week for the U21 side.

The problem for Nigel Adkins though is that he will have a selection headache with Danny Butterfield playing very well in the right back spot culminating with a pin point cross against tranmere for Lambert's headed opening goal. not to mention his part in a defence that in the last five games has only conceded a solitary goal, that itself being a dubious penalty at Yeovil.

Richardson has spoken that he doesnt expect to walk straight back in the side and that although he hopes to travel to Huddersfield at the weekend it will be realistically the following week before he is ready for a return.

From Adkins point of view its really how does he get him involved ? the bench at the moment has a good balance and in Ryan Dickson a player who can play in midfield or left back, meaning that should either full back be injured Adkins has the option to bring him on as a direct replacement for Harding or move Harding to right if it was Butterfield needing to go off.

If Richardson was preferred to Butterfield that would obviously push Dickson out of the frame a little on the bench.

This is the sort of headache that managers would rather have than not though and possibly one that Nigel Adkins hasnt had to deal with too often before.
