FORMER PLAYERS 20:41 - Oct 11 with 6007 viewsVernat

Always been interested in the whereabouts of our former players - and I know there is already a thread on loan players - but here are some of the ex Seasiders who played in League 2 yesterday.

Bolton v Grimsby The Fonz started for Wanderers. Baptiste came on as sub
Sean Scannell sub for Ollie's side.

Cambridge v Newport Wes Hoolahan started for Cambridge

Oldham v Morecambe John O'Sullivan started for the Shrimps & Kelvin Mellor unused
sub.

Port Vale v Carlisle Nick Anderton in Chris Beech' s side

Salford v Tranmere Ashley Eastham for Salford; Peter Clarke & Jay Spearing for
Tranmere all starters.

Scunthorpe v Forest Green Jamille Matt scored hat-trick for Forest Green

Yep, interesting to see what became of past players.

I watch non league at the moment and it is interesting to find ex pros playing out the twilight of their career and some oddities like this fella who turned up playing for a NW Counties team (in a FA Cup match) recently. He is was signed by Bayern Munich for £1.7 m and is still only 27. Now playing for Runcorn United in tier 9!!

Cheers Vernat

Totally forgotten about Jamille Matt

Some good research's gone in to all that.

Many of those players don't register on the Richter Scale for me as I was detached when they played during the most controversial seasons' of the Oystons' ownership.

It's well worth keeping an eye on all these activities. We're a mimi Tommy Johnson so to speak.

Jamille Matt is the only stand out this week.

At the moment we can safely say that the recent ex-players and-out-on loans aren't a very big miss.

Learning to read clusters is not something your eyes do naturally. It takes constant practice.

Shows the high turnover of players we've had over the last few years

If Viv Solomon-Otabor is on form, he'll be a handful at this level.

With the small in stature Aimson as a cebtre half and Telfrord as an active sub , Plymouth aren't doing too badly with a record of:-

Played 5, Won 2, Drawn 2, Lost 1.

Ryan Lowe manger ,- who we could have got / been interested in, in Februaryr!!!

Jeez Vernat.

There's plenty for me to get mt teeth into there.

Off the top of your list I'd be interested in the stories of the following:-

Bola
Broadfoot
Dobbie
Adam
Edwards

If I get time during the week I'll try and do a profile on one of them.

Cheers.

The Fonz scored in Bolton's 1-2 defeat

Spearing played for Tranmere.

Holloway's Grimsby won 3-2

Think Nugnugs came on as a sub in Altay's 1-0 win

Callum Guy played for Carlisle
