 | Forum Thread | The Somme at 18:57 29 Apr 2022
I'm off to the Somme the week after next, visiting Mametz, and various other battlefield sites, memorials and cemeteries. I'll be paying my respects to recently discovered family members who paid the ultimate sacrifice. If anyone wants me to pay respects ot take photographs of any specific headstones, I'll be more than happy to oblige if I can. It's an organised trip so the itinerary is set, but I intend travelling out in the evenings to a few sites in and around Amiens. Drop me a pm. |
 | Forum Thread | 1 player at 16:28 21 Apr 2022
If you could choose 1 player from our illustrious past to fit into this side, who'd it be ? A no nonsense defender, a midfield general or a free scoring attacker. Thinking specifically for this side and formation, I considered Fabs for Fisher, Gylfi or Ferrie for Grimes, Ante or Ash to shore up the backline, but would have to plump for Robbie and his lung bursting midfield performances. |
 | Forum Thread | Loan thread at 22:07 14 Mar 2022
When did "loan" players become a thing ? Listening to soccer Saturday and it was game after game where the goal scorer was on loan from another team. I know we've done relatively well using the loan market, but surely its detrimental to the sport. I think it was Chelsea who had 20 odd players out on loan that cannot be right. It distorts whatever division these players are loaned to. Edit First players I remember being on loan to us were John Salako or Joey Beauchamp, any earlier? [Post edited 14 Mar 22:10]

 | Forum Thread | The ignore button at 18:16 11 Jan 2022
Genuine question, do you use the ignore function on here and if so how many do you have on ignore. I have 3, years ago I wouldn't dream of having posters on ignore, but I genuinely believe it enhances my forum experience and keeps me from getting into petty arguments with people who I simply wouldn't choose to interact with in the real world. Makes the mods job easier as well. No doubt I'll get pelters for using it, but wondered, is it just me or do others take the easy route as well. |

Watching him now against West Ham, he really is a good player , but a miserable bugger, never looks happy. Still think his red card cost us our PL position. |

Usually details start to emerge about now for early bird offers. What do we reckon, this season was definitely a bargain at £299. |
 | Forum Thread | That Fulham game at 04:48 12 Nov 2021
Is there a link anywhere for the MOTD analysis. I've had a look and can see the highlights but not the 12min or whatever slot it was they gave us, where they highlighted our pass and move. That game was surely a highpoint in our PL history irrespective of the opposition. |
 | Forum Thread | Dan James at 14:57 31 Oct 2021
Watching Norwich v Leeds, Dan is desperately short of confidence, Leeds seem to have had their pants pulled down, 30million was it, making Clucas look a bargain. |
 | Forum Thread | Rugby at 20:49 23 Oct 2021
Watching the Ospreys on S4C , what the hell has happened to rugby, its not the game I grew up watching, zero flair, its just an 80min arm wrestle, no wonder regional attendances are pathetic. |
 | Forum Thread | Flags at 18:04 19 Oct 2021
Not had a good flag thread for a while, there were 2 flags behind me on Sunday, a Swansea "loyal" on the Northern Ireland flag and a Union Jack with Swansea loyal or similar with London is our capital on it. Both lasted about 10mins before stewards removed them. What would be the cause of removal, pretty sure a few around me complained about them, one guy was going nuts asking them to be pulled down. Anyone else see these ? |

It got a bit naughty after the game behind the North stand, barriers and all sorts being thrown. Not seen that for a good few seasons. |
 | Forum Thread | Stresa Cable car tragedy at 22:36 26 May 2021
What an absolute tragedy, cutting corners and greed again to blame. Myself and Mrs TJ sat sipping a Morretti watching that cable car 3 summers ago. It looked a very gentle and sedate trip up the mountain side. Nothing coming out of the initial report made sense, 14 deaths for a cable car that fell 20m, broken bones and concussion definitely, but 14 fatalities. The details coming out now are harrowing, brakes deliberately tampered with by the operating company, just to keep operating, resulting in the carriage going backwards down the mountain at speeds of over 60mph. It must have been absolutely terrifying. The poor surviving child who lost his entire family, how do you recover from that. RIP x |

I see he just scored for Jamaica, hopefully boost his confidence. |
 | Forum Thread | Season tickets at 16:12 28 Feb 2021
Think I'm right saying next year's season ticket prices are released tomorrow for those of us who opted to take the refund for this season. What are we thinking they are going to set them at, very tricky for the club to get right imo. |

Quite impressed with Cardiff tonight and how Mcarthy has got them playing. How bad was Harris. |
 | Forum Thread | Player of the year at 04:49 30 Jan 2021
If the season stopped right now, who would be your player of the year. A lot of genuine candidates. Roberts , Guehi, Grimes, Fulton, Lowe and I can't believe I'm saying it but Bidwell to name but a few. I'd have to plump for Grimes at this moment but no-one has been head and shoulders above the rest, Cooper has built a real team to be fair. |

If you still read this forum, I notice you are looking for canine buddy and needs to be hypoallergenic. All the advice you've had on your thread on PS is sound, however let me add my two pennies worth. Its unlikely you'll get a dog from places like Many Tears as they almost always will only allow you to adopt if you already have a dog as the rescue dog will need the guidance from the resident pooch. I have 3 from Many Tears and they have all been mistreated either physically or mentally by their former and I use this term lightly owners. 99% of the time all they need is time and patience. Once the dog trusts you the bond that will develop between you then is unbreakable. I've always had JRT's then we found we needed to go down the hyper allogeneic route and our last 3 have been 2 Yorkshire terriers and my latest is a Bichon, she is the most affectionate and loving dog you could meet and has a wicked personality. I'm sure you know but don't settle for something that isn't right for you as its a lifetime commitment. Have you tried the vets, as very often there are adverts for dogs to be rehomed, just before Xmas there was a Bichon looking for a home as its owner had gone into a care home, so might be worth looking around and biding your time. Best of luck and if I can be of any help feel free to message me. |

 | Forum Thread | Migrants at 16:59 11 Oct 2020
Its been reported that more migrants successfully crossed the English channel in the first 3 weeks of Sept than the entire previous year. What can be done about this situation? What do we offer as a nation that the rest of Europe doesn't, that prompts individual to pay huge sums of money and risk their lives. Edit - don't let this thread become race baiting etc etc. Its a huge problem that needs a solution. [Post edited 11 Oct 2020 17:01]

Anyone know the timeline for partial season ticket refunds. I know September's games are refunded in October and October's is November etc, but anyone know, when during the month. Its only 1 home game so far, but these are ramping up in October and November. |
