Two meetings, nine goals and one win each. Swansea and Macclesfield clash for the third time this season tomorrow at the Vetch with Macclesfield edging the two meetings so far this season by five goals to four. It seems such an age ago that Swansea opened their 2001/2002 season with a 3-1 win at the Moss Rose to start the season so well. Since then, the Vetch has seen many changes both on and off the pitch. Colin Addison's only dilemma appears to be whether to place Chris Todd or Neil Sharp alongside Mumford and O'Leary in the centre of defence. Steve Brodie returns to fitness and is very likely to come into the side in place of Damien Lacey as he looks to build on the good form he was showing before his injury. Macclesfield could be forced into three changes from the side that was beaten by John Hollins' Rochdale last week with Hitchen, Tracey and Wilson all likely to miss out on the game. Two years ago, Macclesfield were the visitors to the Vetch on this very weekend, and a 1-0 win for the Swans set a club record 9th win in a row - this time Swansea will settle for just the win and three more points as they look to push themselves a little closer to the play-off zone. This time of the season is now crucial for Swansea who are halfway between the bottom and the play-offs and a decent run now could see them make a second half of season charge towards extending their season. Much of that could depend on the much heralded departure of Tony Petty which seems another step nearer completion tonight but is still not quite signed, sealed and delivered. Looking forward to the game, Roger Freestone said "I hope that we can pick up the points that we want now. It was a great start to the season at Macclesfield and hopefully we can pick up another win here and maybe put together a nice little run."
