BJB Day 54

Knitting, Cards and Blue Rinse - What????

Home > Story Index >Day 54 In The Big Jack Brother House

15.07.03 - 10.17am - Myra is in the diary room choosing the day's activity. She asks Big Jack Brother for a pack of cards to play Bridge and Canasta with. Also she wants some blue rinse for the group and some balls of wool to do some knitting with.
15.07.03 - 11.14am - Myra's things have turned up in the house. She tells the housemates that they will be having a typical 'girly' day today just like she has with her friends in the outside world. She has decided that Jason will be the first to have the blue rinse treatment followed by Leigh, James and finally Leon.
15.07.03 - 12.12pm - All the housemates now have their hair dyed blue. James decides that Jason looks like a tablet that you put into the toilet whilst Leon looks more like one of the teletubbies. Myra sits them down to start playing cards. "Okay she says Canasta first." Leon pipes up "Who is Asta Myra?"
15.07.03 - 12.24pm - Leon's question to Myra was answered by James "Asta La Vista Baby" and Leon is away crying in the corner of the room as James called him Baby. He cries that it is not fair just because he is the smallest person in the house that he keeps being called Baby. James is taunting him even more by singing the Britney Spears song "Hit me baby one more time" Myra decides to abandon the cards and start on the knitting.
15.07.03 - 2.21pm - The sight of Jason, James and Leigh knitting on the sofas has to be seen to be believed. They are all trying to knit a new jumper for Leon to cheer him up. There is a bit of a problem though when Jason drops all his stitches and the ones on the needle aren't doing much better either.
15.07.03 - 3.17pm - The housemates are still knitting the jumper but on each section they are now incorporating in the design something that will remind Leon who did what bit. James Thomas is knitting in a picture of three goals, Leigh a huge £ sign, Myra a picture of a blue rinse wig and Jason a pair of crutches. Leon is trying to tell him that it is a jumper and it shouldn't have a crutch.
15.07.03 - 6.18pm - Leon's jumper is finished. He tries it on and the miracles has happened - it is too small. Leigh volunteers to take it home for one of his kids action men instead even if it may be a bit tight even on them. Leon is disappointed so Myra lets him have an ice cream from the freezer to make him feel better.
15.07.03 - 7.22pm - Myra is now trying to explain to the group the rules of Bridge. All the housemates have put some of Myra's curlers in to go with the blue rinse but the cards is getting nowhere. Leigh suggests a game of snap instead which starts well enough until Jason breaks the table whilst shouting snap.
15.07.03 - 9.47pm - Before heading to bed, the housemates wash their blue rinse out. Or at least they try to - it is not for moving and Myra reads the label again and it says that the rinse will naturally fade and disappear in the next six weeks. James has to be physically restrained to stop him committing assault.
15.07.03 - 11.54pm - There are now just ten nights left in the Big Jack Brother House. However for one of the housemates there are just three. Which housemate though is up to you to decide - cast your vote on who you would like to see evicted this week by using the form below.

The fate today’s Swansea footballers would never have to endure
Swansea City bring this season to a close on Saturday with a home game against Millwall. However, what about those bygone days when footballers had no choice but to go down the pit after their career ended, or open a toy shop, pub or retrain ? That thought would petrify todays modern footballer.
Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

TEAM NEWS : Norwich City v Swansea City
The Swans are on the Norfolk Broads, punting and boating their way to the end of the season. Hopefully the city of Norwich is obliging.
Swansea City : Jack Army travel over 1,000 miles for two games in succession
Swansea City have set out on their second long distance away trip in two weekends, this time to Norwich for todays clash between the Swans and Canaries (3pm) Over the last ten meetings between the clubs Swansea City have won five times, Norwich the same.
Cardiff City fan sends tragedy tweet directed at dead Swansea City fan Terry Coles
As a result of the news reported by Sky on Wednesday that five military horses had escaped and ran through central London, a Cardiff City follower thought it wise to relate the incident to the death of Swansea fan Terry Coles, 42.
Swansea reject Cullen contract and trigger one year option
Liam Cullen has had his request for a new contract dismissed by Swansea City after discussions broke down last week. The lowest paid ‘senior’ player at the club ( he is twenty five) asked for a better contract increasing his £3,500 a week to around £7,000 a week over three years.
Gwyn’s Eye View : Norwich City v Swansea City ‘The officials’
Thanks to Gwyn we have a thorough assessment of this weeks officials who will take charge at Carrow Road this Saturday at 3pm. Norwich City will be keen to get the points to guarantee their play off slot, and Saturday is their first go.
Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate
He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
