The Tony Ford Story

The Tony Ford Story - Order At A Discounted Price

Having been in the game since 1974, when he made his debut for Grimsby Town, Tony Ford holds the record for the most appearances of any outfield player in the history of British Football. In a career spanning four decades, his name has become known and revered in towns and cities across England by fans seduced by his skill, professionalism and above all the sheer joy he has taken from the game.

In an era of multi-million pound contracts, flash cars and celebrity lifestyles, Tony's story is that of a man who essentially played football for the love of it. Although he never played at the highest level in the domestic game, he represented his country prior to the 1990 World Cup, winning three caps, and at the turn of the century was awarded an MBE and the PFA Merit award for services to football - tremendous achievements for a working class lad from a tough Grimsby estate.

The Tony Ford story is his authorised biography by football writers Keith Haynes and Phil Sumbler. Published in paperback by Tempus Publishing it is available from early December 2005 at the price of £12.99. However, as a special online rate for readers of the web sites of the clubs that Tony played for, we are offering the book at the discounted price of £10.99 delivered directly to your door.
