Swans Away To Billericay Town

Billericay Away

Before anyone asks - its in Essex somewhere. Well, at least I think it is.

The Swans have been drawn against Billericay Town in the first round of the FA Cup after the draw was made this afternoon. John Hollins pulled out ball 42 for the Swans straight after former England defender Paul Parker produced that of Billericay Town.

The game will be played on the weekend of November 10 with exact date, time and ticket details to be confirmed in the next couple of days.

The two sides have never met before and it's the 10th successive away tie that the Swans have been handed in the competition - will we ever play at home?? Billericay play in the Isthmian Premier League and currently sit a whopping 107 places below the Swans in the league ladders.

The game could well be prime for BBC TV coverage as it is typical of the kind of tie that they would cover at this stage. Potential other options would be the games between Hereford and Leeds, Torquay and Yeovil and Lincoln and Forest.

The draw in full: -

Darlington v Northampton Town Hampton & Richmond v Dagenham & Redbridge Torquay v Yeovil Leyton Orient v Bristol Rovers Bury v Workington Barnet v Gillingham Accrington Stanley v Huddersfield Town Farsley Celtic/Barrow v Bournemouth Eastleigh/Forest Green v Rotherham United Southend United v Rochdale Team Bath v Chase Town Bradford City v Chester City Morecambe v Port Vale Hereford United v Leeds United Mansfield Town v Grays Atheltic/Lewis Gainsborough Trinity v Hartlepool United Exeter City v Salisbury City/Stevenage Borough Oldham Athletic v Doncaster Rovers Peterborough v Wrexham Evesham/Halixax Town v Burton Albion York City v Havant and Waterlooville Harrogate Railway v Droylsden Rushden & Diamonds v Macclesfield Town Ware v Kidderminster Harriers Walsall v Shrewsbury Town Horsham v Maidenhead United Altrincham v Millwall Cheltenham Town v Brighton Stockport County v Staines Town Crewe Alexandra v MK Dons Lincoln City v Nottingham Forest Stafford v Cambridge United v Crawley Town/Aldershot Town Notts County v Histon Oxford United v Northwich Victoria Billericay Town v Swansea City Carlisle United v Grimsby Town Eastbourne Borough v Weymouth/Hitchin Town Chesterfield v Tranmere Rovers Wycombe Wanderers v Swindon Town Luton Town v Brentford

Gwyn’s Eye View : Swansea City v Millwall
Glyn is back with his favourite stats as we build up to the last game of the season. That comes in the form of Millwall who it seems are close to selling their requested 1,148 allocation, so its down to the Jack Army to do their bit this bank holiday weekend.
The fate today’s Swansea footballers would never have to endure
Swansea City bring this season to a close on Saturday with a home game against Millwall. However, what about those bygone days when footballers had no choice but to go down the pit after their career ended, or open a toy shop, pub or retrain ? That thought would petrify todays modern footballer.
Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

Swansea reject Cullen contract and trigger one year option
Liam Cullen has had his request for a new contract dismissed by Swansea City after discussions broke down last week. The lowest paid ‘senior’ player at the club ( he is twenty five) asked for a better contract increasing his £3,500 a week to around £7,000 a week over three years.

Thanks to Gwyn we have a thorough assessment of this weeks officials who will take charge at Carrow Road this Saturday at 3pm. Norwich City will be keen to get the points to guarantee their play off slot, and Saturday is their first go.
