Bauza Relishing Pompy Cup Tie

Spaniard Guillem Bauza is relishing his chance to pit himself against premiership side Portsmouth in the 4th round of the FA Cup

Making a rare starting appearance for the club on Tuesday night against non league Histon, the 24 year old has admitted the chance to face world class players at Fratton Park has exited him.

However former San Siro favourite Nwankwo Kanu is one player the former Mallorca man is especially looking forward to playing against and has nothing but praise and admiration for the Nigerian, he told the SWEP, “One of the good players I would like to face is Nwankwo Kanu.I would love to play against him.”

He added “ I have followed him since he played at Ajax. I like him as a player and as a human being he has done very good things. On the Playstation, I play as him. All the players will be special, but Kanu is someone that myself and my friends back in Mallorca talk about a lot.”

Over the course of the season , Bauza has found opportunities to impress fellow countryman Roberto Martinez very hard to come by and with only four starts and seven substitute appearances to his name the season the Parma born striker is bidding his time.

"Since I have been at Swansea I have not had many chances to score, but the chances I have had have been in the FA Cup.It is a matter of when I play that the goals could come. I have had to be really patient because I am not getting into the first XI.”

"When you are on the bench or in the stand, you have to be patient and work hard on the training ground. When you are on the pitch, you have to show the gaffer you can play and score goals. I had the chance to play at Histon and I enjoyed it.Maybe I will have another chance this Saturday, but if not I will wait until the FA Cup."

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate
He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
