Sousa Officially Unveiled By Swansea

Swansea City have unveiled new manager Paulo Sousa this afternoon after the 38 year old signed a three year deal with the club.

Impressing Swans chairman Huw Jenkins in his interview last Wednesday, the local businessman offered the former Parma and Juventus player the vacant managerial post at the club on Thursday. Others in the frame to succeed Roberto Martinez as manager were ex Tottenham Assistant Gus Poyet, Exeter City's Paul Tisdale and Sheffield United's Gary Speed.

Speaking about the foundations that Martinez left the club in, the Portuguese tactician wants to  continue the Spaniards work and be a success at Swansea as he told the BBC, “ I dont have doubt to continue his work to get the right success for the club and believe in my knowledge and what I can do for the club.I agreed from the beginning, the philosophy is the same I have it and we have it very clear to achieve our success .”

He added,"First of all because it`s a club with big foundations, a club with a lot of stability, they give a lot of support to the manager to make the right things and it`s what I believe in the chairman in the club the people who work in the club to help me, to support me to get always the success for the club."

"I am very happy to come to this club and very happy to stay in Swansea , for the very first day every people coming was friendly and was familiar and it is fantastic to stay here.”

"I am a special person with a lot of ambition with my knowledge and my convictions and to all my commitments to help with the clubs process of success to help the club build more strong foundations. To help the club achieve better targets and for what I feel with the chairman and all the staff that work in the club everyone is committed to support me.”

“What I expect is the same commitment from everyone, the same quality from everyone and more than this, the will to keep fighting. for the club, because the club needs to be above everyone over individual persons, players, staff, manager everyone, that is our philosophy.

“We need to keep the players special and committed to the club and the will to fight for the club for each moment .”

“We want to build an important family here, where we can always be happy ."

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
