Player Reactions To Cardiff City Defeat

The Swans players were - as you would expect - disappointed at the last gasp defeat at Cardiff City

Swansea City throught they had done enough to leave the Cardiff City Stadium with at least a point after a hard fought encounter between the two promotion chasing Welsh sides.

But a late strike from Michael Chopra ensured that bragging rights went to the home side and the Swans without a win in six games and just one in their last eight.

Speaking after the game, the players were as stunned as the fans with goalkeeper Dorus De Vries telling the official website "It's a tough game, but we've got to keep our chins up and stay positive.

"We could have won it after taking a good lead. But we couldn't get the second one and it cost us.

"Unfortunately Chopra gambled twice and they both came off.

"But we are still in a good position and we've got to put this game behind us against Scunthorpe on Monday.

"There's always pressure, but you've got to forget about this one and look forward to the next one."

Fellow countryman Cedric Van Der Gun reflected on his own chance to make it 2-0 just before Chopra scored the equaliser and he said "At the moment I'm a bit frustrated because I had a good chance to make it 2-0 at the end of the first-half.

"But the ball didn't roll for me because of the pitch, which was difficult to play good football on.

"Then one or two minutes later they made it 1-1. It was a big moment in the game, but we've got to forget it and move on.''

Andrea Orlandi was the name on the scoresheet for the Swans, scoring direct from a corner and he said "We controlled all aspects of the game after the first 15 minutes when they really came at us.

"We had some good chances, especially Shefki's (Kuqi) at the end. But they go straight up the other end and punish us.

"I think the goal was mine, but it doesn't matter as we lost the game.

"But we need to get over it and get the three points on Monday against Scunthorpe.

"We won't need motivating, the manager will see to that. He is a winner and he'll be ready. We are to.''

Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
